The THI Group of Turin presents the new hotel chain at BIT.
The first openings in 2007, in Lamezia Terme and Milan. Verona in 2008.
Fiera Milano Rho, 22 February – BIT is the stage chosen by Turin Hotels International for its official announcement of the birth of THOTEL, the Group’s new brand, which debuts on the Italian market this year with two hotels in Lamezia Terme and Milan, followed by one in Verona in 2008.
The new hotel chain’s philosophy, which weds business and art, is illustrated by Amato Ramondetti, President of Turin Hotels International and THOTEL in the presence of Hon. Francesco Rutelli, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism.
Among the speakers is Nicoletta Rusconi, proprietor of the Fotografia Italiana Arte Contemporanea art gallery, who illustrates the content of the ambitious artistic-cultural project, the result of a partnership between THOTEL and Fotografia Italiana Arte Contemporanea that will bring unique works by Italian photographers selected for the Premio di Fotografia Italiana Arte Contemporanea into THOTELs.
Starting this summer, THOTEL, the new brand of four-star business hotels, will open the first two facilities of a chain that in the space of six years will build 22 hotels throughout Italy for an investment of some €330 million. After the openings of Lamezia Terme and Milan in 2007, 2008 will be the turn of Verona, Reggio Emilia, Padova, Trieste and Vicenza, while the following year will reach Bologna, Catania, Naples and Rome. The Cagliari, Florence, Mestre, Pisa, Ancona, Bari, La Spezia, Palermo, Lecce, Pescara and Reggio Calabria facilities will open between 2010 and 2012.
Designed by the Simonetti & Associati architecture firm, THOTELs are characterised by a modern, easy-to-recognise architecture that affords them maximum visibility and will be located near motorway junctions and ring roads of large urban centres. The interiors combine comfort and modernity, the atmosphere is casual and informal. The rooms are decorated using natural materials, in warm, inviting colours. Depending on their geographic position, THOTELs will have 100-160 rooms. To engage the guest emotionally, pictures by the best emerging photographers, selected by Fotografia Italiana Arte Contemporanea, will be on display in the rooms and communal areas. The original show kitchen formula used in the restaurants guarantees speedy, efficient service while keeping culinary standards high. THOTELs are equipped with meeting and congress rooms for 150-200 persons, while on the wellness front they feature a fully equipped workout room, a Turkish bath with chromotherapy and an exercise pool.
